OVERVIEW

Mai Chau is a small town nestled in the midst of a lush valley and surrounded by a green rice field. Located not too far from Hanoi, a trip to Mai Chau would bring you the opportunity to experience the life of local villages with their own distinct dress, language and custom, walking through the rice paddies and enjoy breathtaking scenery en-route.
Ninh Binh is home to the ancient capital of Vietnam – Hoa Lu – dating back to the 10th century before it was moved to Thang Long Hanoi early 11th century and Trang An is known as a World Heritage Site or “Halong bay on land”.
A combination of Mai Chau, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay offers you a fantastic escape to the beautiful countryside, great photo opportunities and the magnificent journey out to Halong Bay.

Day 1 HANOI TO MAI CHAU

Your Go Experience local guide will pick you up at 8am at your hotel and travel west to the town of Mai Chau. Mai Chau is primarily inhabited by the Thai people. This ethnic group, like all others in Vietnam has its own unique identity, with their own unique dress, language, and customs. Tonight you will get the opportunity to try the local cuisine. Upon arrival to town you take a walk through the beautiful valley to the neighbouring villages. This is a great chance to learn about hill tribe methods of cultivation and way of life – a world away from Vietnam’s frantic cities. The scenery in this area is spectacular and allows for some amazing photo opportunities. Then, visit Mo Luong Cave. The cave holds a fascinating page in Vietnam’s history in relation to the role it played during the war and also how it is perceived in common folklore.

Day 2 MAI CHAU TO NINH BINH

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning before transferring by vehicle to the town of Ninh Binh. This afternoon take a paddle boat ride through the karst limestone fringed waterways of Trang An Eco Region. Described as the Halong Bay on land, you shall venture through multiple water caves and view some amazing pagodas set amidst stunning verdant backdrops. This trip allows for some amazing photo opportunities in a unique region of Vietnam. Late afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 3 NINH BINH TO HALONG BAY

After breakfast you shall transfer by road to Halong Bay. Considered Vietnam’s greatest natural wonder, Halong Bay boasts over 3,000 islands that rise out of the sea to provide a spectacular natural environment. En route enjoy the captivating rural scenery and see fields of busy workers farming their rice fields using traditional methods of cultivation. After boarding your boat, enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on board as you head out to the bay. Spend the afternoon cruising amongst the islets, stopping to explore grottoes and enjoy a swim in the clean, warm waters of the bay (during the summer months). You will also stop at Titop Mountain where you can ascend for a spectacular view of the bay. In the evening relax and enjoy dinner on board as the sun sets.

Day 4 HALONG BAY TO HANOI

After breakfast, continue cruising amongst the many spectacular islets and visit several more fascinating grottoes. Finally leave the bay and head back towards the wharf, transferring back to Hanoi. Arrive at your hotel by late afternoon. Breakfast and Brunch Included.
